Philosophy of Education:
I believe that every young person in our nation should be given a free and adequate education that not only equips them with the academic and technical skills necessary to get a job or to go on to higher learning, but also equips them with the fundamental life skills required to be a contributing, rational, compassionate adult. I believe that we as teachers, in a combined effort with families, are responsible for molding the next generation of our country’s leaders as well as followers using any means necessary. I believe that education, like life, is an open book; and that there are many ways of accomplishing the task. I believe that by using creative, multi-sensory approaches of instruction combined with an open mind, I can help the students develop a love for learning that extends well beyond the borders of the classroom. Realizing that the best discipline is self discipline, I will model, appropriate behavior at all times, and teach my curriculum in a manner that lends itself to promoting desired student behavior. Finally, to do any job well, I believe that motivation to accomplish that task needs to come from within. My motivation is, “I expect to pass through this world but once, any good therefore that I can do for any fellow creature, let me do it now, let me not differ or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
